Pop.... I am not quite certain what you mean by ‘the truth will set you free’. You seem to use the phrase frequently, and it is getting old and worn.
What Jesus actually said was, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” MY Jesus would not be too thrilled with many of your comments on various threads.
Keep in mind….WWJD? Give Peace a Chance!

You know, it's funny, I asked the question below and NHLivefree inadvertantly answered it! LOL! They'll still oppose.
Why? Those that say they are opposed to hydraulic fracturing hide behind their true fear of lower natural gas prices continuing. They feel it threatens their green agenda. But they can't bear having people know the truth, so they continue to play the fear game, using emotion against logic.
All anyone needs to do is go to Disclosure
The information is there for all to see!
And the truth? Well, it will set you free!!!

Of course the paranoid shill of Big Oil and the smaller Big Drilling has displayed the usual industry paranoia and denial along with a touch of misinformation. The usual formula to avoid full and complete disclosure and minimize drilling expenses by not following best practices and real standards for the fracturing process. Accountability has always been avoided at all costs by the industry.
Pay no attention to that person behind the curtain and posing as the sodapop queen of TX. Misleading misinformation as usual.
Thanks orphancarguyPE for your now routine astute comments. The lastest process developed by a Canadian firm makes much more sense than pumping contaminants and toxins in a huge water mix and then simply dumping the huge amount of wastewater produced by the old process. If it is even slightly more expensive, it may not gain favor in this odd and secretive industry.

OrphancarguyPE, I agree, as that technology continues to progress it is a great idea and will be aggressively persued. However, do you think that will stop the opposition to drilling???
However, the disclosure comment on the current process is misleading. It is disclosed, over 18,000 times on fracfocus.org and before that every chemical on site has always been required, by law, to be identified and labeled under OSHA.

Well, PatAZ and others...if it isn't disclosed, then how do you KNOW its safe?
Beside the point anyway--because using water (oil/gas insoluble in water) with ADDED CHEMICALS to make it dissolve is just plain wrong. A Canadian company is using a much simpler--and much SAFER--type of technology: super chilled natural gas injected under high pressure.
Its a win-win-win-win-win situation. 1) no local water is used, OR degraded. Its still there to be used safely by plants, animals and people without treatment. 2) the sudden intense cold/pressure (a hundred degrees or more in an instant) freezes and fractures the rock just as well as water does. 3) oil and natural gas and similar petroleum solids, liquids and gases dissolve into natural gas. 4) as it rewarms, pressure increases (Boyles Law etc) causing further fracturing, and providing a positive pressure flow back to the surface carrying along all the hydrocarbons it dissolves. 5) The natural gas can be all recovered and reused, and the water table isn't compromised. Remember, oil and water underground don't mix--unless you are crazy enough to be putting the chemical equivalent of a lot of soap/detergent (just a lot worse) that will MAKE it mix together--and stay down there forever.

Exaggerated humor, well done. It do compare to the conversation with oil companies about fracking.

Just more completely unsubstantiated fear and paranoia propaganda.
Should we expect anything else out of the ignorant and clueless that continue to fall victim to their bogie man fears???

From the opinion/op-ed pages of the Columbia Dispatch, and a clear violation of submission guidelines.
Not news, but a fable.

Thanks for the post -- sometimes it takes humor and satire to get folks' attention to serious matters.
Anyway it beats articles shilling fracking.

Thanks for a great article by Joseph Blundo, Columnist, at the Columbus Dispatch.
No wonder the drilling industry refuses to disclose all the "secret" ingredients. They are just 'imitating' the food and restaurant industry.
It all makes perfect sense now!!!

Good story but it is clearly labeled as an opinion column so it does not qualify for Newsville.
